Interrupting Microaggressions & Repairing Harm in Healthcare

When a microaggression occurs, healthcare workers will feel empowered to provide feedback to colleagues, to reflect, and to have the tools to repair any harm they caused. This training will help workers recognize when a microaggression has occurred and how to discuss it with their coworkers and take steps to mitigate any harm.

Target Audience
This course is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists and other critical care team members.
Learning Objectives
KNOWLEDGE: This course will help explain the definition and concepts of cultural influence in healthcare, dominant culture, proximity to power, and microaggressions within the field of healthcare. |
COMPETENCE: This course will examine how consideration of how one’s own identities shape their work in terms of patient care, relationships with co-workers, and supervisory relationships, with opportunities for guided self-reflection. This course will help teach practical strategies for repairing harm after one commits a microaggression or unintendedly harmful act |
