Interrupting Microaggressions & Repairing Harm in Healthcare
MGH Institute of Health Professions & Spaulding Rehabilitation Network
When a microaggression occurs, healthcare workers will feel empowered to provide feedback to colleagues, to reflect, and to have the tools to repair any harm they caused. This training will help workers recognize when a microaggression has occurred and how to discuss it with their coworkers and take steps to mitigate any harm.
This 2-hour course is currently intended for employees of Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and MGH Institute of Health Professions only.

Learning Objectives
This course will help explain the definition and concepts of cultural influence in healthcare, dominant culture, proximity to power, and microaggressions within the field of healthcare. It will examine how consideration of how one’s own identities shape their work in terms of patient care, relationships with co-workers, and supervisory relationships, with opportunities for guided self-reflection. This course will help teach practical strategies for repairing harm after one commits a microaggression or unintendedly harmful act. |
