Christopher Shaw is dually certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health and Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner. He is the NP Team Leader of The Massachusetts General Hospital Inpatient Addictions Consult Team. Throughout his nursing career he has worked with patient populations stigmatized by homelessness, addiction and diagnoses of infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis and Tuberculosis. He has worked domestically and in sub-Saharan Africa to educate health care workers and patient advocacy groups to ensure optimal treatment strategies are accessible to patients whose lives depend on them. Christopher has Advanced Practice Addictions Certification through the International Nurses Society of Addictions. He completed a two year training program in the art of Spiritual direction with New York Based Guild for Spiritual Guidance in 2008. Christopher has twenty-two years of nursing experience and he has practiced in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings domestically and internationally. He has been associated with The Massachusetts General Hospital for 17 years.
