Jessica Rasmussen, Ph.D. received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Boston University in 2013. While at Boston University, she served as a study therapist and assessor on several NIMH-funded grants that investigated the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for hoarding and the psychopathology of hoarding symptoms. Dr. Rasmussen also provided CBT for patients with hoarding and conducted individual research on the features of hoarding, under the supervision of Dr. Gail Steketee, Ph.D. a world-renowned expert in the field. Dr. Rasmussen subsequently went on to complete her internship and postdoctoral training in the OCD and Related Disorders clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital where she continued to research and treat hoarding, as well as other OCD and Related Disorders. Since 2013, Dr. Rasmussen has been a staff psychologist at the OCD and Related Disorders providing cognitive-behavioral therapy for hoarding and other OC-spectrum disorders. She also maintains a part-time private practice where she regularly provides CBT for hoarding. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Rasmussen has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on the psychopathology and treatment of hoarding, and regularly presents to the mental health community on the treatment of hoarding disorder.
