Brian Lozano, PhD., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and a licensed clinical psychologist on the PTSD Clinical Team (PCT) at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC. Dr. Lozano specializes in providing evidence-based treatments for PTSD as well as cognitive-behavioral and brief motivational interventions for substance use disorders. Dr. Lozano has served as a national consultant for the dissemination of Prolonged Exposure (PE) in the Department of Veterans Affairs, and this capacity trains and supervises clinical staff from a variety of disciplines in Prolonged Exposure for treatment of PTSD. Dr. Lozano is active in clinical research teams investigating integrated treatment for PTSD and co-occurring substance use disorders.
