Meagan Heilman is a research assistant at the VA Boston Healthcare System. She is assisting with the VetChange website and research studies and a brain bank assessment validation study, and has been part of a study that is using a relational agent in primary care for screening and brief intervention for Veterans considered risky drinkers. She received a Master’s degree in psychology at Boston University in 2015, where she assisted in a study on the effectiveness of a Web-based intervention and add-on components to reduce alcohol use in college students. Meagan’s research interests include the etiology and gene-environment interaction associated with antisocial behavior, its comorbidity with alcohol and substance use disorders and trauma, and prevention and treatment of these disorders.
