Emily Bernstein, PhD
Dr. Emily Bernstein is a research and clinical psychologist in the Psychiatry Department at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She received her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2020, completed her pre-doctoral internship at VA Boston Healthcare System, and completed her post-doctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Bernstein studies alternative and scalable treatments, including using physical activity, digital health, and brief interventions. She is interested in understanding transdiagnostic mechanisms of action, including enhanced emotion regulation and cognitive function, in order to optimize these approaches. Dr. Bernstein is an active member of several professional societies including the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, where she was selected for an Alies Muskin Career Development Leadership Program Award for her research. She is also a member of the 2022 Class of the Career Development Institute for Psychiatry. Clinically, Dr. Bernstein provides empirically supported treatments for anxiety, depression, traumatic stress, and OCD and related disorders.
