Dr. Laura Petrillo is a palliative care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and an investigator in the Cancer Outcomes Research Center. She completed medical school, internal medicine residency and a palliative care fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, as well as advanced training in clinical research. She is interested in how patients and clinicians communicate about serious illness, and how patients understand their prognosis and the goals of therapy. Her research aims to develop interventions to help patients with advanced cancer who receive novel therapies get the information and support they need to make informed decisions and prepare for the future.
