The talk will discuss “difficult-to-treat depression” in psychiatry through an exploration of major landmark studies, the novel approaches that have been attempted to date as well as current innovative approaches.

At the end of this presentation participants will be able to:
- Describe the efficacy of the atypical antipsychotic agents as adjunctive therapy for major depressive disorder.
- Describe the efficacy l-methylfolate and S-adenosyl methionine as adjunctive therapy for major depressive disorder.
- Describe the safety and tolerability shortcomings of these agents in major depressive disorder.
