January 21, 2021 4th Annual Alice and Harold Alpert, Lecture in Medical Education Grand Round: Building Blocks to a Diverse and Inclusive Future
Through examining issues of race, diversity and inclusion from a historical perspective, this session will provide insight into current challenges to advancing equity, social justice, diversity and inclusion in current academic medical settings. It will include individual and organizational examples of actions that can be undertaken to address these challenges.

This program is intended for: Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Fellows, Residents, Interns and Nurses
Learning Objectives
- Explain the historical context of race, diversity and inclusion in academic medicine
- Discuss benefits of diversity in academic medicine, including a description of the changing demographic landscape for workforce diversity
- Describe approaches to individual and organizational responses to advancing anti-racism, diversity and inclusion in academic medicine and to addressing the challenges experienced by diverse students, trainees and faculty
