This conceptual talk will offer an explanation for the function of the serotonin 2A receptor, as well as a mechanistic account of how psychedelics alter brain function to alter consciousness, and potentially facilitate therapeutic development. I will update the audience on the latest neuroimaging and clinical research from the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London.
