The 5th Annual Alice and Harold Alpert Lecture in Medical Education: Enhancing Psychotherapy Supervision
Evidence-informed practices in supervision include incorporating principles of adult learning into the traditional model of case discussion in psychotherapy training. This talk will review structuring supervision, developing targeted supervision questions, and giving positive and effective feedback as a few examples of tools a supervisor may employ to enhance learning outcomes. Specific attention will be paid to the development of future expertise in psychotherapists by supervisors who model intelligent inquiry and employ progress monitoring.
