Dr. Solhan has worked with veterans in recovery from substance use disorders and PTSD, within VA Boston, since 2009. She serves as the director of the TRUST House, a long-term residential treatment program for female veterans, and provides evidence-based interventions for addiction and co-occurring disorders through an outpatient substance abuse treatment clinic. She also has extensive experience as a Dialectical Behavior Therapy clinician and is one of the founding members of the VA Boston DBT Consultation Team. Dr. Solhan is active in training and education within the psychology internship and postdoctoral fellowship programs at VA Boston, providing clinical supervision and didactic seminars on substance use disorders, DBT, personality disorders, and professional development issues. She has served as a content expert for VetChange since 2012. Her broader research interests include personality disorders, affect instability, impulsivity, emotion regulation in substance use disorders, mindfulness-based interventions, and novel treatment and research methodologies, including ecological momentary assessment and web-based interventions.
