June 3, 2021 Electroconvulsive therapy: new insights from 20 years of clinical data
Since its discovery in 1938, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) has remained the single most effective treatment for psychiatric conditions including depression and catatonia, but most ECT research has utilized relatively small sample sizes that may constrain findings. In this talk, the speaker will describe how national data and electronic medical record data of more than 20 years of treatments at the largest ECT center in the United States have allowed for new understanding of ECT treatments and recipients.
